Trojan Records received the Inspiration Award at this year’s prestigious Q Awards, held at the Roundhouse in Camden, London on 17 October.

Collecting it on behalf of the label were former Trojan marketing manager, Chips Richards, famed producer Bunny Lee, Dave Barker, who along with Ansel Collins provided the label with its first UK Number One with ‘Double Barrel‘, Locksley Gitchie of the Cimarons and current Trojan’ employees, Max Norlin and Laurence Cane-Honeysett.

Everyone gave brief speeches of thanks, with the performers, producers, fans and former Trojan employees all acknowledged for their contribution to the Trojan Records story over the past 50 years.

The award follows the initial screenings of the acclaimed documentary ‘Rudeboy’, the publication of The Story Of Trojan Records, the deluxe Trojan box set and a series of high profile events, making 2018 a year definitely to remember for the world’s most iconic Jamaican music label!
