After embarking on a recording career in the early 70s, ‘Reggae’ George Daley initially struggled to make it in the business, failing to achieve any notable success until the late 70s, when he finally  made the big time with a series of sublime routes classics for a variety of producers.

The advent of dancehall in 1979 failed to diminish his popularity, with the Prince Far I-produced ‘Mix Up’ LP  establishing him as a significant recording artist internationally, following its release on Trojan in 1982.

Over the years that immediately followed, he reaffirmed his standing as one of Jamaica’s most talented singer-songwriters, but the move to New York ultimately resulted in his recording career tailing off.

Today we pay tribute to this greatly underrated and overlooked artist, whose recorded works were always of the highest quality, with a newly posted bio, which can be found in the Artists selection on this website. or simply by clicking here.
