Latest reports indicate this year's Record Record Store Day has been a great success with independent retailers such as Beggar's Banquet (shown here) doing a roaring trade throughout much of the day.
Trojan's own offering was a limited edition 7" single featuring previously unissued alternate cuts of two of Toots & the Maytals' best known hits, 'Do The Reggay' and 'Bim Today, Bam Tomorrow', both from 1968.
A lucky few of those unable to make it to an independent record store today may yet have the opportunity to obtain a copy of the record, with further information on that to follow soon.
Finally, we would like to apologise for the lack of activity on the site of late, but it has been unavoidable with all our efforts going toward the launch of an exciting new set of releases that will be available over the coming months.
Once the work is complete, more time can be spent on adding new information and features to the site and with this in mind, we would like to say a big thank you to the following who have kindly sent in label scans over the past few weeks:
Sven Leeuwerink, Tomasso Ciato, Ton Van Arnhem, Simon Gains, Joe Lawrence, Kevin Nye, Stephen Nye and Dave Barry.
We're still very much in need of scans high res (300 dpi) scans of record labels, LP sleeves and memorabilia pertaining to Jamaican music from the Fifties to the Eighties.
And please also keep those suggestions on the rarest and most collectable Trojan Records from 1968 to 1980.
As usual, the email address is: trojanwebsite@googlemail.com
Any contributions would be gratefully accepted!
