Friday 4th see's a benifit night held in the quest to fight a deportation ruling threatening the great London-based MC Ishu.

There has been an amazing response to this group and is testament to the love and admiration we all have for Ishu, which I know that if he was actually on Facebook he would be incredibly humbled by it all.

The news so far is that Ishu had a solicitor's meeting last Friday (21st) with Fisher Meredith Solicitors with regard to his "refusal to remain" letter. The solicitor's have given him some sound advice about how best to address his case, which he now has to build. It looks like he can only appeal when a forcible order is in place though, and this is likely to happen in the next 3months. It is only then that he can lodge his appeal with the high court against being removed to a detention centre awaiting deportation, if he succeeds in fighting this they wont be able to kick him out and he'll be allowed to then get the official documents he deserves to stay in the UK.

It is important now to try and ensure Ishu has a kick ass case and money to fight any legal moves against him, and this is where we can all help. At the moment Ishu is lacking information about the 1990s, so if any one has any records/fliers/documents to show that he was performing/working in the country between 1991-1998 that would really help him.

As he is not entitled to legal aid due to the refusal letter we are trying to raise funds for Ishu's case and for those that wish to contribute via PayPal please use jimbamboo@hotmail.com, with the subject: 'For the Benefit of Ishu'. I understand that there is also a benefit gig being organised probably for February but more details to follow about this, so if you would like to contribute then that would also be great.
