Hi Trojan fans
My names Andy Mac and I'm the organiser for Scooter and Ska, a locally run promotions company that organises music events in Coventry.
As well as having full time jobs, my small team and myself like to help our City in our spare time by bringing unique shows to the area, not just any event that anyone can organise, events that will be remembered.
This year we will be organising a themed event called " 79 " and this will take place at the prestigious new B2 building at the Belgrade theatre, Coventry on August the 25th. There will also be a smaller daytime gig at the fantastic 2 Tone museum and venue just outside the city centre where there will be a tour, bands, dj's, food and special appearances.

Proceeds will go to Cancer research UK.
Coventry has a rich cultural history and this was never more demonstrated than the late 70's, in particularly 1979 when the Ska and Mod explosion started in Britain with bands like the Specials, the Selecter, the Jam, the Beat etc...
The aim of the event is to highlight those troubled times and look at ourselves now where the current climate of unemployment and austerity are taking a strong grip. I may be sounding all doom and gloom here but I'm not because during that period in our history we had some great music and fashion.. so the day will be just fun, fun, fun and a great testament to that year. The show itself will be a sight and sound spectacular with so much going on.
I was also at the Skabour festival last year as a guest of my good friend and 2 Tone legend John Sims, I loved the Trojan lawn and was a regular visitor every day.
I'm not asking for money, just to see if Trojan would like to get involved in anyway, either by holding a small exhibition at the theatre or maybe donating a prize for our fundraising gig raffle on the 21st July. It would be just great to have you involved in some way.
We have had some great support for the raffle including prizes from Marshall, Dr Martens, Express music, The Belgrade itself and in return we have their logos on our popular website.
